End of road construction party is Thursday 11-8. We are giving away pulled pork sliders and Jambalaya for a donation to Charity. Food will be from 11 till 5 or 6 or when gone. The Show will be live from 2-3 with our Tailgate Talk segment on 95.3 The Score. Bud Light prize wheel will be here from 2-5 with lots of prizes. Beer and Wine sampling will be 3-6. Hot Wieners from the Smokehouse at 4 PM. Packers play at 7 Thursday Night. Stop on bye and help us celebrate!

Carter’s raptor project is in the book (phone) Lots of nice explanation of the process and 3 Red Tail Hawk releases by Carter. Looks like it was worth a day off from school. They also went on the boat museum of Great Lakes Shipping in Duluth.

One more street light to go. Painting is being finished today. Stop and go signals are up. Sweeping and cleaning on Wednesday, barrels should be gone on Wednesday. 441 at Oneida interchange should be open November 9th. Newspaper had sometime between November 5th and 15th listed. Oneida Street is open block party is Thursday November 8th 11 AM till 6 PM. Free Pulled pork sliders, jambalaya, beer and wine samples. Radio Station WSCO 95.3 The Score will do The Show live from the store 2-3 PM with live remotes after that. The Bud Light Prize wheel will be filled to Capacity. Stop by to see how they put 30 pounds of show in a 10 pound bag.

Carter is doing a raptor study for school. He is going up to Hawk Ridge in Duluth MN for the weekend to meet with cousin Frank who works there. I don’t think the teacher realizes how well traveled the kid is. He was 3 years old when he released his first hawk at Hawk Ridge. The youngest one to every do it. Louise made an Elsa dress for Kenzie for Halloween. Grandma Batten saw it today and said it was too pretty to wear. I told her Kenzie would have it wore out by Christmas. Speaking of Christmas, only 57 days till.

Road construction update – Southbound traffic will be moved to my side of the street on Wednesday morning. North bound will be on the far side, access should be good. Northbound will move lanes as they paint the stripes and finish lights. Will be totally open October 31st. State project under 441 bridge should be open November 9th.

no road construction report, I didn’t call him early enough. I did drive over Oneida on 441 today and the crossover diamond is looking good. They are back to Early November for the 441/Oneida street interchange to open.

3 on 3 hockey tournament this weekend for Carter. He has 2 practices tonight and made the squirt A team for this year. He is the 2nd youngest by a week on the team.

Fresh Amish Turkeys are ordered for Thanksgiving, no price until after the first of November but he said he didn’t think there would be any change from last year. Order board is going up, call 920 734 4905 or stop in to order.

23 road construction days left. Hopefully the rain stops long enough for them to finish Calumet and open Oneida in front of the store. Under the 441 bridge is due the 27th of October. NO RAIN!

Playing Sorry with Kenzie yesterday, apparently “Sorry” doesn’t apply to her. Every time I got Sorry she wouldn’t let me move her back to start. Becki said she learned that from me but I don’t remember that lesson to her. I think it was her dad. I asked if she got any more naughty notes from school. “No, only two.” A Frozen Princess is on the schedule for Halloween. Didn’t ask Carter what he was dressing up as.

Soft Maple color is at Peak in Waupaca and the leaves are falling. Oak ridges need 2 weeks yet. Go for a fall drive on a sunny day.

Road Construction is moving along, 4 more weeks and no more rain please. West Calumet has 2 lanes open, that helps. Seymour is closing Tuesday up by St Elizabeth’s. Southern 1/2 of Oneida should be open in 2 weeks depending on rain. I can see new concrete under the 441 bridge. Last I heard was October 27th that should be open, can’t wait.

B&E’s bourbon barrel 2018 vintage reservations will start next week. The syrup will be available mid November. I was 2nd by 2 orders last year, I would like to be number one this year. Starting next week you can go to bandestrees.com to enter your order. NEXT WEEK! I was just out there and the 2018 vintage button is not there yet. We will do a drawing for a Niemuth’s gift certificate (or 2 if we get enough orders) just for those who have their B&E’s syrup delivered here.

No cute grand kid stories this week, I didn’t see them. Shot 57 golfing this morning. Hopefully better on Wednesday afternoon.
