How Long Can I Expect A 1-Year-Old To Last On The Beach?
Rory and I are headed to Rhode Island in a few weeks for my oldest friend's engagement party. The morning of the party, my friend has been ordered to leave the house for the day so her family can set up. So she's decided she and her fiance and her two nephews and one niece are going to the beach—with me and Rory and Emmett.
Normally I'd be all, "Oh, no way!" about this. Schlepping all the beach stuff AND all the baby stuff would make a beach trip an exercise in frustration. However, my friend's aunt has a beach cabana, so all the beach stuff (chairs, toys, and even some baby stuff) is already there.
So I guess we'll go—but I'm still a little bit nervous!
As we learned from our most recent plane adventures, Emmett doesn't really like sitting still. And I'm not sure how long I'll be able to handle chasing him in the hot sand. Especially if he's trying to eat said sand while speed-crawling away from us—and toward the ocean.
